2. Getting Started

When you open up the program you are happily greeted with about 8000 menus and options. It’s okay, though, I will guide you through each button, menu, window, and option. I will describe the three sets of tools as bars. There is a left bar, which looks like this:























I will call this bar the left bar for the sake of simplicity. If you are used to the old left bar look you can click the double arrow above the “Ps” to switch between views. If you click that double arrow it will change into this:










There are no differences between the two except for their arrangement. Your decision to stick with either view is merely a matter of preference. Throughout my guides I will keep the bar in the original default orientation.









Next we have the top bar, which consists of a menu bar and a tool specific bar that changes with every tool you select in the left bar. It looks like this:




Finally we have the right bar, which houses a plethora of information on your current project. It looks like this:
